Seamless Knitwear Wholegarment 3D

Cashmere shaped in one continuous form — cleaner, softer and made to move.

A new expression of cashmere

One piece. Fewer seams.

Seamless knitwear is cashmere shaped with advanced 3D knitting technology. Instead of separate panels stitched together, selected GOBI styles are knitted as a single piece.

The result is cleaner lines, few to no visible seams, and a smoother fit on the body.

Stitch by stitch

Like 3D printing in concept. Crafted with cashmere yarn.

Wholegarment 3D uses a digital knitting program to shape selected garments stitch by stitch, closer to their final form. By reducing traditional panel construction, the process helps lower technological waste.

A smoother structure

The garment follows the body with less bulk.

The lines feel cleaner and the structure more refined — minimal in appearance, while carrying the warmth and softness of Mongolian cashmere.

From design to dimension

The process begins with design programming.

  1. Design the pattern

GOBI’s design team prepares the garment pattern and sends it to the knitting machines through an internal network.

  2. Shape in three dimensions

The machine reads the digital instructions and forms the cashmere into a three-dimensional shape.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Wholegarment 3D cashmere?

Wholegarment 3D cashmere is selected knitwear shaped directly on advanced 3D knitting machines, creating a more seamless garment structure.

Is Wholegarment 3D the same as 3D printing?

Not exactly. While both technologies create three-dimensional forms using digital design, the production methods are different. Wholegarment is a 3D knitting process in which yarn is knitted directly into the shape of a complete garment using advanced knitting machinery.

What machines does GOBI use for Wholegarment 3D?

GOBI uses advanced Japanese knitting technology, including Shima Seiki machines, for selected seamless knitwear styles.

How is Wholegarment 3D different from flat-knit cashmere?

Flat-knit cashmere is usually made from separate panels that are joined together. Wholegarment 3D creates selected styles in a more complete knitted form with fewer seams.

Why does seamless cashmere feel different?

With fewer joining seams, seamless cashmere can feel smoother on the body, with cleaner lines and softer movement.

Does Wholegarment 3D improve production efficiency?

GOBI's internal reporting shows an 8% CO₂ reduction and 12% energy saving for the Wholegarment collection.
