For 45 years, GOBI has worked with one rare fibre: Mongolian cashmere. Our heritage is built from the land where the fibre begins, the herders who protect the source, the people who craft each piece, and the customers who carry GOBI cashmere into everyday life.
We have grown with technology, traceability and responsible cashmere projects — but our foundation remains the same. It is measured by what we continue to protect, improve and carry forward.

Built through Mongolia–Japan cooperation, the first production foundation brought modern cashmere processing into the country and opened a new chapter for Mongolia's natural fibre industry.
Quality Became a Standard
New machinery, automated systems and dyeing technology helped GOBI strengthen its production capability and refine the way Mongolian cashmere was processed. Cashmere was no longer only a raw material to be exported — it became something Mongolia could refine, craft and present to the world.

During this decade the company grew beyond manufacturing alone — developing seasonal collections, improving product quality and building a stronger retail and market presence. These upgrades prepared GOBI for its next stage as a modern Mongolian cashmere house.

With the launch of its official website, expanded retail presence, designer collaborations, Wholegarment technology and natural-colour cashmere development, GOBI began bringing Mongolian cashmere closer to international customers.
Mongolian cashmere moved beyond the domestic market and began reaching the world through a Mongolian cashmere house.

Sustainable Cashmere Trilateral Project
The project connects 106 herder households and 200 selected breeding bucks, focusing on raw-material quality, livestock genealogy and professional cashmere fibre testing before the fibre enters production.
Pasture and climate
Pasture and Climate Resilience
From 2025 to 2029, GOBI serves as the implementing organisation for an ADB-supported pasture and climate resilience project in Bayankhongor and Khuvsgul provinces.
The project supports herder training in pasture management, ecology, financial literacy, gender equality and climate resilience, with a target of at least 200 herders.

CashmeReborn
Launched in 2023, CashmeReborn gives selected cashmere production remnants a second life.
GOBI's internal assessment reports 92.8% water saving, 99.78% lower chemical use, 25.98% CO₂ reduction and 8.99% energy saving compared with selected conventional production processes.

GOBI uses advanced 3D knitting technology for selected seamless cashmere styles. For the Wholegarment 3D collection, GOBI's internal assessment reports an 8% CO₂ reduction and 12% energy saving compared with selected conventional production methods.
Traceability
Traceability and Standards
GOBI's traceability feature lets customers view product-level information on selected items, including source province, goat type, yarn blending and factory process.
GOBI also works with certification systems such as OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, SFA Clean Fibre Processing, ISO management standards and Mongolia-issued Organic Collection certification, within the stated certificate scope.

Production wastewater treatment and water reuse
2.86bn MNT invested · 228 m³ treated a day · 82,000 m³ a year · 100% of industrial wastewater treated.
In 2024, GOBI began construction of a new industrial wastewater treatment facility built on automated biological treatment technology. It was commissioned by the State Commission in December 2025 and holds its state registration certificate.
All of GOBI's industrial wastewater passes through the plant before it reaches the central system, and the automated process reduces direct human contact with wastewater, supporting occupational safety and hygiene on site.
The next step is water reuse: the facility is designed to prepare treated water for greywater applications, building a foundation for circular water use in cashmere production.
Automated biological treatment from factory discharge to MNS 6561:2024-compliant water. Water, soil and air quality are monitored by a laboratory licensed under the Ministry of Environment.
