About GOBI · Ulaanbaatar, since 1981

Truly Mongolian.

One fibre, one country, one production system.

The overview

Founded in 1981, GOBI Cashmere embodies Mongolia’s rich heritage in cashmere. As a 100% Mongolian brand, we blend centuries-old techniques with modern design to create garments that are timeless, comfortable, and long-lasting. At the heart of GOBI is an integrated cashmere production system in Mongolia, where raw fiber, skilled craftsmanship, and quality control come together to shape our core collections.

Since 1981

One roof, from fibre to finished piece.

Founded through Mongolia–Japan cooperation, GOBI sorts, washes, spins, weaves, knits, and sews through one integrated cashmere system in Mongolia — the country where the goats are raised. Carefully selected Mongolian fibre passes through each stage with attention to quality, softness, and consistency.

Each stage connects back to the source: better fibre for herder communities, skilled work in Ulaanbaatar, and customers who can understand where their cashmere begins.

From pasture to product

Responsibility, measured.

Responsibility at GOBI is shown through measurable work: production wastewater treatment, water-saving material initiatives, herder partnerships, and fibre testing before the cashmere becomes yarn.
